It's Time to Nurture My Inner Crafter

I'm inspired daily by all of you amazing ladies out there in blogger-land who sew & stitch, who cut & glue, who heat & pour & so much more! So I've decided it's time to nurture my own inner crafter and to get motivated I've vowed to only give handmade presents this year for Christmas. I know, I know----its way to early to talk X-Mas, but I've only got 5 months to learn some basic techniques & to explore a few ideas that I've been longing to try including conquering my fear of the sewing machine!

I've already got a few ideas up my sleeve- although I'm not sure how in detail I will go because some of my recipients might be reading this blog! However, I will certainly include some photos of project ideas & maybe even some stories & pictures of my crafting adventures.

To get started I've spent some time today scouring the internet for pictures & ideas and of course "how-to-guides". Check out this wonderful site with lots of Handmade Card Ideas. I thought a collection of handmade note cards tied with ribbon would make a fun little gift.
Do you have any ideas for fun & thoughtful handmade gifts? I'd love to hear them!

What a great site! Thanks for the link! Something I love to make are those cookies in a jar things! Have you ever seen those books? You put all the dry ingredients in a jar and then attach a recipe and decorate the jar and give as a gift! I think those are cute and I have done them before! :)

Hi Elizabeth
I found your blog from Nikki at Scarlett Rose Garden... I think that is an admirable idea! I am going to try and make a few things this year to. I'm going to knit washcloths...
I love to knit but never want to take on a big project...

I will check your site out again. It is very cute. : )

You go girl! Let's tackle our sewing machines together, lol!
I don't know if you saw my quilted ornies or not, but they're fun to do. You could also use natural things such as leaves, ect...

I want to buy some yo-yo makers and make some xmas stuff with those this year.
In the past I've made those rice bags to heat in the microwave and then lay them on your neck, or to warm your feet, ect. They're great to heat up before getting in the car on a wintery trip.

I'm sure your freinds and family will be happy to open your gifts!
