Adventures In Crafting & More House Work.

I had a busy weekend around the house, working in the yard, working inside & as I stated in my last post, I began my first craft project.

First the house!
So above you can see Jason & I made a clever little TV stand that fits over the monitor heater without blocking the control panel or the heating vent. When we saw that the mounts for the TV cost over a couple hundred dollars I started trying to come up with an alternative. I pulled apart an old bookshelf and Jason put it pack together to make this stand. It works really well because its barely wider then the TV so it takes up very little space in the living room. I put a little piece of lattice work over the front to help disguise the brown monitor heater.

I really need an area rug to tie everything together--but until I find a nice one- this is how it will look.

Jason's office is starting to look more like a room now....

Due to lack of closet space I got this little wardrobe for him from IKEA. It works well & the price was right!I planted some very thorny thistle because you can't quite call it the Thistle N Rose Cottage if it doesn't have any Thistle! Let me just say- This is not a pleasant plant to garden with- OUCH!

I hung some bird feeders.......

I transplanted some more plants.....

Here are some pictures of the new fence....

It will be painted white soon.

My mom and I dug out steps going down the hill to make it easier to get up and down.

We also lined them with solar lights for late night visits!

Lastly my little weekend craft project: making thank you cards!

My very first card: please excuse the poor pictures, it was late & I was getting very sleepy!

As you can see, we are all pretty tired so we really must be going to bed now! Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful week!

Your home is so sweet!! Everything you do to it is wonderful. I bet you and your mother got a good workout digging the steps. You know, not everyone has the wonderful view that you do. It would be a wonderful day to step out of the front door and see the water.

I spy a little scotty who looks very tired! Doogs lays at out feet just like that. Now is that A or M?

hugs,
Becky
